AORTA was established to address two primary areas - to meet the requirements of astrologers of The Tradition and to promote this discipline of astrology to the media and public. Methodologies vary between the different astrological disciplines, and astrologers of The Tradition require a foundation through which they can learn about their own methodologies, and interact with colleagues who share the same technical and philosophical principles. Saturn in Libra is still retrograde – please refer to previous editions of The Planets and You for more detailed information on this planetary movement. The interesting factor this month is that Saturn and Mars are in a sextile aspect (60 degrees apart) which will perfect on 15 February. Saturn is the great malefic (big bad guy) and Mars is the lesser malefic (little bad guy) so the two of them in close and easy contact is possibly not a good thing. Matters Saturnian could experience sudden activity of a heated nature, especially as Mars is in Leo, and matters of a Mars nature could be slowed down by the ponderous Saturn. To affect us on a personal level we know that this aspect would have to connect with our birth charts in some way, but in general we may see things like mining (Saturn) accidents (Mars), activity (Mars) related to mining shares (Saturn) and even movement (Mars) in the property/farming sectors (Saturn) or changes (Mars) to those in positions of authority (Saturn).
